In some of the most well agreed upon
painful parts of the body.
Mind over matter used to be a very cliche saying. But after those seven days, I completely agree with that statement. The number one thing that got me through those seven days was the audiobook by the navy seal and ultra-marathon runner David Goggins, “Can’t Hurt Me”. It took me the first three days to finish the audiobook, but once finished, I knew without a doubt that I was going to get through the rest of the week, and any other adversity in life. This book taught me how to go deep into the recesses of my mind, open up to my own vulnerabilities, and face them head-on. It solidified the idea that we are capable of so much more than we think.
Seven Days of Tattooing
After the final wipe, what was the first thing you said and did? “Do you have an appointment tomorrow? Because I feel like I can keep going” It was truly an amazing feeling knowing that I just sat through 7 days of tattooing. Also getting to see the kind of coverage that Robert was able to achieve in that time.
“I love being able to tattoo everyday. I no longer consider it work. It has become something I truly care about. I know what it’s like to be a part of something you don’t enjoy, being around other people who aren’t happy with the things they’re doing. To be stuck in life. It is a big goal to help people who are in that predicament to find that same passion regardless of their career and do what it takes to pursue it.” – Andy Pho
